Born to Kvetch was funny. I read that book over Pesach. Do you have it already?

'Born to Kvetch' is a fun read, nonetheless a few of the descriptions rang me as too vague, so further reading is vital if one really wants to grind one's teeth into the story of Yiddish. Too little attention is paid to West Yiddish, which was the 'original' Yiddish, and the role it played among the Western European Jewish intelligencia. Alas, in comparison to the London and Antwerp communities, Yiddish in the US hasn't been groomed in many families with the same high degree use of grammar and vocabulary; in a nutshell, 99.5% of my US friends who grew up with Yiddish as their mother tongue only just speak a crudely anglicized version of it. Just thought I'd mention that :)
